Nu-Life Upholstery is a family run father & son company with over 40 years experience in the trade. We are the 5th and 6th generations of upholsterers in the family and pride ourselves on our professional service and attention to detail.
Peter Collins started in the family business in London, under the tuition of his father in his factory shop in Archway Highgate, London and later moved to Harlesdon and Wembley. Peter later became involved in the film industry and supplied drapes and soft furnishings to the Elstree, Sheperton and Wembley Studios, and during a 20 year period built up an impressive portfolio of films. These included Star Wars, Buster, Dracula, Yentle (Barbara Streisand), Empire of the Sun, Return to Oz, Young Sherlock Holmes and Flash Gordon, to name a few. As well as supplying products to the film industry, Peter was also involved with the production of several commercials and also worked with the BBC on many programmes including two Eurovision Song Contests.
Peter moved to Suffolk in 1989 and started Nu-Life Upholstery. Jason Collins joined the company in 1996 and has been working alongside his father continuing the family tradition supplying upholstery products and services from the shop in Wickham Market.
